Who is Gavin Casalegno? Meet the ‘Summer I Turned Pretty’ star
The Jeremy team! While Conrad Fisher is getting a lot of hype – and love – in The summer when I became prettyhis younger brother is a notable force.
In the Prime Video series, adapted from Jenny Hanof the YA book trilogy of the same name, teenage Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) looks forward to another summer at Cousins Beach alongside his brother, Stephen, and family friends Conrad and Jeremiah. The problem? Belly has long had a crush on her older brother Conrad (Christopher Briney) and hopes this is finally the year he notices her in a new light. Then there is Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), who is Conrad’s younger brother – and he definitely notices Belly in a way his brother didn’t.
“I will say there are scenes between Jeremiah and Belly that have some pretty amazing music,” Casalegno, 22, exclusively told We Weekly before the series premiere. “I don’t know if it’s in the final cut, but those songs really hit the mark.”
The first season of the series, which has already been renewed for a second season, dropped on the streaming platform on Friday, June 17, as fans watched Belly discover her love triangle while embracing the debuting social season. Conrad and Jeremiah, for their part, have both tried to come to terms with their changing feelings amid summer plans and family surprises.
“I feel like it was a very brotherly relationship from the start. It was really cool,” the Texas native said. We Weekly before the series premiere to work with Briney. “I never had an older brother, so growing up with Chris onscreen was so much fun to explore.”
The Connecticut native, for his part, was equally thrilled to work with the vampire diary alum say We: “Honestly, from the second we met, I knew it would be easy. I don’t have a brother, but I feel like I can now imagine what it’s like to having a brother. I think we kind of naturally just had a dynamic [of] people who get along. »
Although Casalegno is no stranger to Hollywood, he knows this project is something special.
“All the hard work, blood, sweat, tears and endless night of laughter is finally out for the world. I couldn’t be happier and prouder of these wonderful people❤️“, said the actor via instagram Friday, sharing behind-the-scenes snaps with his teammates.
Acting has been central to Casalegno for many years now, which he greatly enjoys.
“I love doing what I do and I know right now that’s what I want to do,” he said. Photo album magazine in an interview published earlier this month. “I plan to get my real estate license at some point, but where I am right now, acting is my passion and my goal. … Preparation for me is about character headspace. Music helps me focus and what I listen to is determined by the scenes of the day.
