Vermont Business Magazine Shoreham-based WhistlePig, the # 1 ultra-premium and luxury Rye Whiskey distiller in North America, has teamed up with Darryl McNally and Limavady Irish Whiskey to fulfill his dream of creating the first Single Barrel Irish whiskey at the world. The addition of Limavady, alongside WhistlePig’s collection of revolutionary rye whiskeys, marks the company’s growth from the first independent American whiskey to a global portfolio of craftsmanship.
WhistlePig will handle the bottling and distribution of the whiskey under the direction of McNally, helping Limavady establish the Single Barrel Irish category, in the same way WhistlePig did with the aged and experimental Rye. McNally will directly manage production and innovation and bring the story and spirit of Limavady to life.
âWe initially met Darryl at an industry event and then stayed in touch over the years. When we understood his desire to reinvent the category and learned of his intention to relaunch Limavady whiskey, we jumped at the opportunity to partner with him, âsaid Jeff Kozak, CEO of WhistlePig. âWe visited Limavady and discovered the historic park of the distillery. As the brand draws its inspiration from the past, we look to Limavady’s future as Darryl takes Irish whiskey to the next level. “
Both WhistlePig and Limavady are premium handcrafted whiskeys that push the boundaries of defining their respective categories. WhistlePig has led Rye in farm-to-bottle maturation and distillation, while Limavady will be the Single Barrel Single Malt, showing the world just how distinctive and high quality Irish whiskey can be. WhistlePig believes Irish whiskey is a category that needs to expand and break the stereotypes set by industry giants. Award-winning company Rye Whiskey also believes that Irish Single Malt, and furthermore Single Barrel, deserves the same recognition as Single Malt scotch and artisan American whiskey.
âI have been working in the Irish whiskey industry for a long time and getting the Limavady whiskey name back has been a dream of mine for a long time, so finally bringing it to market is already a big step for me, but teaming up with a visionary a company like WhistlePig makes it even more exciting. Forward thinking and unafraid to push the boundaries of innovation, WhistlePig is the perfect partner for Limavady, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to take Irish whiskey to new heights, âsays Darryl McNally, master distiller, Limavady Irish Whiskey.
Limavady is set to start selling in select markets in the US, UK and Northern Ireland as early as August. In the United States, Limavady will be distributed through WhistlePig’s existing distribution partners, which include Republic National Distributing Company, BreakThru Beverages, and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, with a suggested retail price of $ 49.99 per 700ml bottle.
Additional information on Limavady will be released in the coming weeks as the launch date approaches.
