Talk to Hype GQ magazine, he said: ‘It really was the most accidental thing that happened during lockdown.
‘It wasn’t like, ‘It’s three o’clock, time to write a song!’ It was just messing around on a piano and singing badly and being heard and then thinking, you know, “what if we try to end it together?”.
Joe created a storm for the magazine wearing a cream ensemble as he stared into the camera.

Joe found it particularly “surreal” that Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon was singing Exile with Taylor, but described it as a “benefit” of the coronavirus pandemic.
He added: “Sending it to Justin with the idea of doing a duet and getting vocal notes of him singing over it and it was all surreal.” It was an advantage of the lockdown.
The collaboration with the Shake It Off hitmaker was originally kept under wraps as they didn’t want their relationship to overshadow the music.
Joe explained, “The idea was for people to just listen to the music rather than focus on the fact that we wrote it together.”

Joe and Taylor started dating several years ago but, due to the private nature of their relationship, it’s unclear exactly when they first met.
They spent time together in 2016, but the dating reports officially began the following year. They were photographed together in Nashville in June of this year.
Although they have each acknowledged their relationship, they have chosen to keep the details of their romance private.
