Sioux Falls’ Zomer family wins again in Family Feud second appearance
Two days later, two days won. A family from Sioux Falls is racking up the wins and must now make a third appearance on a popular game show.
The Zomer family of South Dakota participated in the “Family Feud” game show hosted by comedian Steve Harvey for the second day in a row Friday.
“It’s so exciting with the music, Steve Harvey and the possibility of winning,” Myra Zomer said on the night before.
The Zomers are made up of parents Dale and Myra as well as their son Damon, daughter Cierra Triplett and husband Matt Triplett.
The family hosted a Friday afternoon wake-up call at the Military Heritage Alliance as they beat up the other competing family, the Williams.
Dale and Myra Zomer said the game show was “unreal” and a lot of fun, but a little stressful at times.
“It’s stressful because you have to find answers and you know they will be online for the next 10 years,” Myra Zomer said.
Myra told the Argus Leader that becoming an online meme is a goal for Damon.
“He had planned that if he didn’t have an answer, he was going to go completely crazy,” she said.
Damon’s moment to take him “like crazy” came when he was asked “I like men who smell white” and he got no response.
On Friday’s pre-taped show, Damon said, “Let’s keep it spicy, Steve, how about another woman,” to the question that drew many “ooohs” from the audience.
“We never laughed so much when we were there. It was amazing,” said Dale Zomer.
Dale and Myra said the experience was unforgettable even outside of the game show. The couple said they had become “lifelong” friends with the first family they had played with who appeared on Thursday’s show. After the first show, they met the opposing family for a drink.
The Zomers will now be featured in “Family Feud” for the third time on October 11, according to Dale and Myra.
On Friday’s broadcast, the Zomers won $ 20,000. The next show’s air date is Dale’s birthday.
“I hope we win,” Dale said jokingly.
