Ronan Keating receives outpouring of support after sharing heartbreaking family message

Ronan Keating received a large number of touching messages after courageously talking about his late mother on the anniversary of his death.

The 44-year-old former Boyzone star’s mother Marie died aged 51 after battling breast cancer in 1998.

Sharing his grief with his fans, Ronan took to his Instagram page to post a moving video in which he expressed his regret at not being able to share so many precious milestones with her.
“24 years ago today I lost my mother,” he said. “My family and I went through the most horrible situation losing our mother.

“Marie Keating, she died 24 years ago. She was 51, she died of cancer. She was our best friend, she was a legend, she was as cool as can be. The best mom. “
He added: “She never got to meet her grandkids, she has so many amazing grandkids. It’s heartbreaking that she never got to meet them. I wonder about the conversation I would have with my mother today, on my children, on my life.
“So many things in the 24 years that I’ve lived and done that I’d love to share with mum. When your mum hugs you and says ‘it’s going to be alright’ – that feeling. I don’t understand that anymore and there’s no such thing as that feeling.

“When you’re going through a rough patch and your mom tells you ‘it’s gonna be okay’. Well, you think it’s gonna be okay. That’s what happens.” Fighting back tears, Ronan then opened up about his kids and his wife Storm before saying, “I miss you and love you.”
Her friends and fans were quick to comment, with Jamie Olivier penning: “Big love brother xxx thank you for sharing your heartfelt feelings…sending lots of love to your entire gang.” Julien Macdonald said: “Beautiful words, your mother would be so proud of you and your amazing wife and family xxxx.”

the A show the host was only 20 when Marie died. She also left her siblings Ciarán, Gerard and Gary and Linda and her father Gerry. Together they created the Marie Keating Foundation in her honor.
