PGT Innovations recently hosted an onsite hurricane relief supplies distribution event in the future showroom of the NewSouth Window factory in Metairie, Louisiana. NewSouth Window Solutions is part of the PGT Innovations family of brands and the Metairie factory showroom was approximately 10% complete when Hurricane Ida hit LA as a Category 4 storm on August 29, 2021. Seven team members traveled more than 660 miles from the NewSouth Window Solutions manufacturing site in Tampa, Florida. The team, along with two members of the NewSouth Window factory showroom team, four North Florida PGT Innovations sales reps, and several local volunteers, handed out two of the semi-trailers filled with provisions for those affected by Hurricane Ida, including more than 38,000 bottles of bottled water, 800 gallons by Gatorade, 500 tarpaulins, nails, first aid kits, flashlights and batteries.
The four-hour event attracted over 1,000 families. To ensure the personal health and well-being of team members and event attendees, beneficiaries were ordered to stay in their cars and walk through the line to receive supplies. “Our goal is that the support and supplies we provide after any devastating storm will help residents know they are not alone in this situation,” said Jeff Jackson, President and CEO of PGT Innovations. “There are businesses and organizations that will be there to help them rebuild their homes, communities and lives. “
