Nominations for the annual IoM and WCB industry awards

The Institute of Meat (IoM) and Worshipful Company of Butchers (WCB) kicked off their nomination process ahead of their annual luncheon and awards show on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
The annual awards event has been around for over 25 years and has recognized the achievements of over 1,000 members of the meat industry since its inception. This year, the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 24 February 2022 at Butchers’ Hall in London.
The awards show is the perfect opportunity for talented apprentices in the industry to be recognized for their efforts. Besides being an inspiring experience and building the confidence of the apprentices themselves, the awards can also generate valuable publicity for individual businesses. Professional photographs and press releases will be made available to all winners to support this.
With 12 categories to choose from, individuals and businesses alike have plenty of opportunities to win. Individual winners will receive a check for £ 250, a framed certificate and one year of honorary membership of the Institute of Meat. In addition, the big winner receives a check for £ 500.
Next year’s categories include:
- Best Retail Butcher Apprentice
- Best Independent Meat Retailer Apprentice
- Best butcher’s apprentice of several retailers
- Best Apprentice in Meat Processing
The final list of categories will be announced in due course.
Commenting on the awards, Keith Fisher, CEO of IoM and Fourth Generation Master Butcher, said: Hear. We are committed to inspiring young people to join our industry and to reward excellence where we see it. “
