Michael Ramirez’s cartoon shows hypocrisy
Michael Ramirez’s political cartoon in the Sunday Mail Tribune represents the height of Republican hypocrisy.
While Trump’s COVID responses—proposing bleach ingestion or declaring it will magically disappear—were seemingly entirely acceptable, Biden’s serious attempts are for some reason worthy of ridicule.
It is so discouraging that the eternal struggle of all humanity to arrive at our present opportunities for enlightenment, health and well-being is summarily negated by the willful embrace of ignorance and stupidity.

Should we attend a political conference before a play?
I supported OSF for over a decade, but no more.
OSF now prefaces its live performances with a lengthy political message regarding the indigenous people of southern Oregon and how they were abused by the white man.
It offends me. I do not attend cultural events to be lectured about the guilt the white man should feel for the transgressions of his ancestors. I attend for the emotions they convey. If I want a political conference, I listen to a podcast, or I watch the “news” on television.
OSF board members are simply trying to assuage their liberal guilt by trying to make more of us feel guilty too. And it’s not just the “progressive” guts that offend me; I don’t want to hear about “stolen” elections either.
Politics is polarizing; we need less in our society, not more. Our country was founded on the concept of a “common good”, to which the settlers nobly pledged themselves. Where is this consensus today? Deteriorating daily, I would say. I “vote with my feet” — and my wallet. And you?
