“I think I’ve maxed out now,” she said with a chuckle before admitting, “I wish I had started having kids sooner, because I really love everything about kids.
“I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. Being a mum is the best thing. I like to encourage their ideas, I also found more patience after becoming a mum.”

Dylan says she’s “maxed out” when it comes to having more kids
Dylan and Brian certainly have their hands full of parents, Rusty, one, Oliver, two, and Calvin, five, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“After I had Oliver, I thought I would never do that again,” she added. “But something didn’t seem complete for us. We both had a twinge in our hearts that we still wanted a third child. Now we have it and everything looks correct and complete.”

One look at Dylan’s Instagram feed and you’d be convinced she was born to be a mom, but she admits it wasn’t always planned for her and Brian.
Dylan and Brian recently celebrated ten years of marriage
“We didn’t think we wanted kids at all,” she said of herself and her husband of ten years. “We were living in New York, traveling when we wanted, doing what we wanted, and then all of a sudden it happened to both of us. We were like “making children”. Obviously we both love him.”
Ironically, Dylan’s children’s books – the sequel came out last month – were formulated before she even had children.

“I never really thought of a children’s book either”, confessed Dylan. “But my husband and I make up crazy little stories and this comes from one of them. We were on a plane and we imagined our suitcases going on a trip together.
Dylan’s new book is out in September
“My husband then said, ‘How about making clouds out of it?’ It was perfect, with me being a meteorologist. Clouds and emotions kind of work together. There’s a strange parallel between how you feel and the weather.
“He and I started doing storylines on a cloud world and it all went from there.
Dylan loves their creation and hopes others feel the same.
Dylan says being a mother has made her more patient
“Personally, I think it’s even better than the first one”, said the much-loved TV star. “I think it’s a lovely story of compromise and friendship and you can’t always have it your way.
“When you give in a little, nice things happen, you get along, the day gets better and in that case, you get a rainbow.
“I love weaving science into the story and letting kids learn more about the weather. I hope everyone who reads it enjoys it.”
