Eva Mendes made a tearful revelation during a rare interview in which she opened up on heartbreaking family news
eva mendes and Ryan Gosling keep their family firmly out of the spotlight, but the mother-of-two made a heartbreaking revelation on Friday.
In a rare interview on Today with Hoda and Jennathe the actress got ripped as host, Hoda Kotb, wished Eva’s mother, Eva Pere Suarez, a Happy Mother’s Day.

the Coupling The star responded with a moving message saying, “She’s not doing too well right now so that means a lot to me,” she said. “She’s a survivor in every way, so thank you.”

Hoda hugged Eva and asked her if she was okay during the unexpected moment. She did not elaborate on what is wrong with her mother, but continued the interview and talked about her own children, seven-year-old Esmeralda Amada Gosling and six-year-old Amada Lee Gosling.
Speaking of having kids in my 40s, she said, “Something really crazy happened. I met Ryan Gosling, I fell in love with Ryan Gosling, and then I was like, ‘ Ah ok. I want your babies.'”

She continued: “But really consciously I wanted to wait until I was a little older. I just didn’t feel…really it was only when I met Ryan and fell in love.

“But also as a woman, I just wasn’t ready. It’s such a personal choice for a woman, obviously. Then you run the risk of… you always run the risk.

When I was pregnant, there was always something to worry about. But luckily I had very healthy pregnancies and I was glad I waited.”
Eva is very close to her beloved mother
Although Eva is incredibly happy with her family, she has previously spoken about her own childhood and the difficulty her mother had to work as a single mother.
“I can’t believe that by the time my mom was 24, she had three kids under four,” she told Violet Gray in 2014. “She was in Cuba and totally alone. So when it’s the wee hours of the night and I’m feeling a little crazy, I think of her and realize that I have no right to complain about anything.”
