CareerEdge will open applications for funding on March 1
CareerEdge will open its annual application process for its Upskilling Workers grant funding on Tuesday, March 1, soliciting plans from county manufacturing, health, insurance, skilled trades and automotive employers. from Manatee and Sarasota.
CareerEdge offers grants to eligible employers who will use the funds to increase employee skills, accelerate promotions and provide salary increases to tenured workers. Employers can apply for grants of $15,000 to $50,000 to implement training programs lasting up to 18 months, with employee salaries and employment status reported for two years at the end of Training. This funding supports employers who invest in their employees through training, which results in the completion of industry-related degrees and/or occupation-specific certificates. Since 2010, CareerEdge has invested more than $14 million in workforce development, resulting in more than 6,000 trained individuals in our community earning industry-recognized certifications and get paid employment.
To be eligible for this funding, employers must be a member of the Sarasota Chamber located in Sarasota or Manatee County; successfully submit a letter of interest to CareerEdge by March 15; and complete the CareerEdge online grant application by April 15. Employers will be notified of their funding allocation by mid-May, with the rollout of funds taking place June 1, 2022.
